FAQ

Check-ins

As often as you choose: weekly, monthly, every three months or yearly. Most people pick monthly. If you're not sure, the check-in quiz suggests a rhythm in a minute.

Tap check in in the app, click the link in your check-in email, reply OK to a reminder text or press 1 on a reminder call. Each takes a second. You can also add a secret PIN or check in with your face or fingerprint.

Yes. Pause mode stops everything for 30 days with one tap: no reminders, no alerts, nothing opens. You can resume early, or pause again if you need longer.

FAQ

False alarms

Nothing is sent. You get reminders first, then your verifiers are asked if you set any, then recipients get a soft alert, then a grace period runs. Checking in at any point stops everything.

A gentle note to your recipients that something may be wrong. It contains nothing personal, and it has a link anyone can use to say you're okay, which pauses the switch for 7 days.

A verifier is someone you trust who is asked to confirm that something has really happened before anything moves on. You can require none, one or two. If a verifier says you're fine, the switch pauses.

FAQ

Privacy and security

Yes. Message bodies are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and all connections use TLS. By default it is not end-to-end encryption: our servers hold the keys so they can deliver your messages when you can't. For your most private letters there's an optional private seal: the letter is encrypted in your browser and opens only with a question your recipient can answer or a key card you give them, so we can't read it.

Our policy is that no one at Sealkept reads message content. We never sell your data, show ads or use your messages to train AI. Because we deliver messages for you, we're honest that our systems can decrypt them.

On servers we run with Oracle Cloud in Mumbai, India, encrypted at rest and handled under GDPR for every member wherever they live.

Delivery

By email, with a private link to a page that shows only the messages addressed to them. They don't need an account.

Yes. Each message has its own release rule: right after the grace period, a month later, on the recipient's next birthday, or only once a verifier has confirmed.
