Why lifetime means lifetime

A message to an eight-year-old's eighteenth birthday has to outlast a lot.

So part of every Lifetime payment is set aside in a separate continuity fund. It exists only to pay for storing and delivering Lifetime members' messages, and it isn't used to run the rest of the company.

Read our continuity promise
  • Kept apart from our operating money
  • Pays for storage and delivery, nothing else
  • If we ever close, waiting messages are still delivered

FAQ

Questions people ask

That's what the reminders are for. You choose how many. Then a trusted person can confirm, your recipients get a soft alert, and there's a grace period. Any check-in at any point stops everything.

Message bodies are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Because we have to deliver them to people who don't have an account, our servers hold the keys, so by default this is not end-to-end encryption. Our policy is that no one at Sealkept reads message content, and we never sell it or use it for advertising. For your most private letters there's an optional private seal: the letter is encrypted in your browser and opens only with a question your recipient can answer or a key card you give them, so we can't read it. A question is only as private as its answer, and we tell you how guessable yours is.

Anytime. Switching between Monthly, Annual and Lifetime never touches anything you've written or sealed.

You'd get notice and a full export of your messages, and messages still waiting to go out would be delivered by your rules. Lifetime storage is paid for by a separate continuity fund.

Sealkept works for families across the US and Europe. Your data is encrypted at rest and handled under GDPR.

Everything you've already sealed stays sealed and is still delivered by your rules, and your check-ins keep working. You just can't add or change messages until you renew. That's deliberate: if something happens to you, your card may stop working, and that must never stop your letters from arriving.

They all include the same features. Monthly and Annual differ only in how you pay, and Annual works out cheaper. Lifetime is paid once, adds priority support, and puts part of the payment into the continuity fund that pays for your storage permanently.

No. The price you see is the price for the plan. There are no per-message, per-recipient or delivery fees.
